Since the age of 5 I've been involved in some kind of sport. In my younger years I was a competitive gymnast, platform/springboard diver and a martial artist, I've gone through my fair share of injures and surgeries. I know what it is like to feel tight, sore and in pain. I know the body and I understand what others are going through when they are experiencing an injury or tight, sore muscles and joints. Exercise and training can definitely take a large toll on the body.
I was introduced to massage in my early twenties. From the first massage I had, I was hooked for life. Not only did it feel great to unwind, relax and disconnect from the outside world around me, it also gave me muscle and joint relief as well.
Ten years after my first massage, I was ready for a change in my life and I decided to go to school for massage therapy. I was an athlete for so many years, I wanted to have a career that helped other athletes, anyone and everyone dealing with injuries, aches and pains.
I have been a therapist for 5 years. Throughout the years I have grown as a person and as a therapist. Massage therapy has taught me a lot about the human body, self sacrifice, surrender, compassion and how to calm my mind. I have trained in Martial Arts for over 15 years. I am currently a 4th degree black belt in the art of TaeKwonDo. When I taught martial arts I would always tell my students, "as soon as you tie your belt and step onto the mats, all problems are gone. Leave everything negative outside." As a therapist, I have implemented that same attitude for my massage practice. As soon as I get to work, all my problems, stress and frustration must be left outside the door for the wind. Massage is about focus and listening to your clients body and muscles. Being a massage therapist is about the positive energy and focus you give to your clients. Many people can give a massage, but it takes having good intentions, love, healing and compassion towards your client in order to assist them in healing.
To me, massage therapy is SO much more than putting lotion on someone's body.
Massage therapy is about positive vibes:
My goal is to give my clients the most peaceful environment and energy I possibly can. EVERYONE deserves the opportunity to feel and experience the benefits of massage.
